The ProStar is a highly specified controller: this 15A model is suitable for panel sizes up to 360W on a 24 volt system. The ProStar models have an slightly more sophisticated charging regime than the SunSaver range, as an equalising cycle is included to bring individual cells in a battery bank to the same voltage, ensuring maximum battery capacity is maintained.
The ProStar also allows selection of different regulation voltages for gel, sealed and flooded batteries, includes a low-voltage disconnect feature as standard, and is fully protected against short-circuits, overloads, voltage spikes and even lightning! Although if you're buying it from us we're assuming you'll be using it for a 24 volt system, in fact the controller will also work with 12 volt systems. When first connected to the system it will automatically detect the system voltage and regulate the batteries accordingly.
