The Furlmatic 910-3 is Marlec's upgraded model of the well tried-and-tested FM910 windcharger. The FM910-3 incorporates the latest 3-phase alternator, which is also used on the Rutland 913 models. It delivers a 25% increase in power compared to the original model, while retaining the basic design which has been proven time and again in the harshest of environments.
The Furlmatic model has a "furling" device that tilts the turbine horizontally at right angles to the prevailing wind at windspeeds above 35mph. This protects the turbine from the forces of excessive winds and reduces stresses on the turbine and mounting pole. Wherever there is a site that is unattended, remote and exposed the FM910-3 can be relied on, so it is ideal for professional applications such as monitoring, telemetry, communications, isolated agricultural uses, navigation aids, military field applications, rural street lighting, and off-grid houses.
We recommend the 910 as the most robust solution for land-based applications, while yachts may prefer the more compact 913 turbine, which is optimised for marine use.
The HRS913 regulator should be used between the battery and a 910 turbine to prevent any risk of battery overcharging.
12 volt HRS913 Rutland wind turbine regulators are available from our parent company, Midsummer Energy.
